About
My name is Jordan Dyck, and I’m the owner and carpenter behind Cosens Bay Carpentry.
I started my career in construction as a concrete finisher. For two years, I worked alongside a small concrete contractor, learning the finer points of concrete repair and developing an appreciation for the kind of work where patience, attention to detail, and a steady hand make all the difference. It was a humble start, but it gave me a strong foundation—literally and figuratively.
From there, I moved into carpentry and began working my way through the building process from the ground up. I built concrete formwork for foundations, framed houses, and eventually worked my way through to the details that turn a structure into a home.
In 2016, after completing the carpentry apprenticeship program at Camosun College, I became a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter.
My experience continued to grow. In 2019, I moved north to Yellowknife, where I spent two years working for a custom cabinet shop, installing cabinetry and interior trim. That experience sharpened my eye for finish work and reinforced something I had come to appreciate throughout my career: the details matter.
Eventually, my wife and I moved to Vernon to be closer to family, and we decided to make the North Okanagan our home. It was here that Cosens Bay Carpentry began.
Today, I bring years of experience across nearly every stage of residential construction to the work I do. From the first cut to the final detail, I believe good carpentry is about more than simply building something that works. It’s about building it properly, taking pride in the details, and creating something that will stand up to everyday life for years to come.
